Light blue cloth boards with the image of driver and dog sled team embossed on front cover, gold embossed titling to cover and spine. Slight bumping to corners, spine lightened slightly, previous owner's name blind embossed at head of front cover, hardly noticeable. Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown, paper as split along gutter but all still tight. Illustrated throughout with plates and photographs. Folding map of Alaska and the Yukon Territory tipped in at rear is in Fine condition. Very Good. Item #31994

Hudson Stuck's (1863-1920) first book. Stuck was a mountaineer and Episcopal priest who spent many years in Alaska and led the first ascent of Denali in 1913 and spent the last 16 yearrs of his life there as a minister.
