A collection of Ben Hecht's (1894-1964) columns about booming, raucus Chicago illustrated by Herman Rosse's just as bold illustrations that fill pages, margins, and the ends of paragraphs. At the time of exectuing this work, Rosse was the head of the Design Department at The Art Institute of Chicago and was active not only in book design, but also for theater sets where he also collaborated with Ben Hecht. A breathtaking production overall, housed in it's multicolor printed covers. A gem!
